The Richmond

This geographically large area is comprised of three sections: Inner Richmond, Central Richmond, and Outer Richmond. The Inner Richmond is the most centrally located; heading west takes you to the Central Richmond, and then further west to the Outer Richmond. The latter is as far west as dry land will take you – any further west and you will be dipping your toes in the Pacific Ocean. These desirable neighborhoods offer single family homes – primarily Edwardian in architectural style, condominiums in both large and small buildings, and apartments. Two major boulevards – Geary Boulevard and California Street – which run east-west and pretty much the full length of the city, make getting to downtown and Financial District a straight shot. These neighborhoods also offer the convenience of many local restaurants, shopping, public transportation, and many services. In addition, much of the Richmond is bordered on the north by the Presidio, the south by Golden Gate Park, and the west by Ocean Beach and the Pacific Ocean – which offer wonderful outdoor space for a variety of recreational activities.
